Tell us a bit about your organisation:
The Bishop’s Palace and Gardens in Wells, Somerset, has been home to the Bishops of Bath and Wells for over 800 years. Today, it offers visitors a chance to step into history, exploring 14 acres of breathtaking RHS Partner gardens, the magnificent medieval Palace, and the stunning 13th-century chapel.
Our new multimedia tours bring the site’s rich heritage to life, while our diverse events programme—featuring re-enactments, outdoor theatre, live music, and more—ensures there’s always something to experience. Perfect for group visits, The Bishop’s Palace is just a short walk from Wells’ historic city centre, making it an unmissable stop for those looking to explore England’s smallest city.

There’s plenty for groups to discover at The Bishop’s Palace, with exciting new experiences launching this year. Our brand-new multimedia tours inside the Palace bring history to life in an engaging and interactive way—featuring stories, music, imagery, quizzes, and even talking Bishops! Best of all, they’re included with admission at no extra cost, making every visit even more immersive. We’re also thrilled to announce a fantastic line-up of events that groups can enjoy. The Country & Garden Fair (Sunday 10th May 2025) promises a lively day out with a petting farm, craft and plant stalls, have-a-go activities, baking competitions, a dog show, circus performers, a speaker’s tent, and live music. Throughout the year, groups can also experience historical re-enactments, open-air theatre, and live music, ensuring there’s always something new to enjoy.
