The British Coach Tourism Awards – the only national awards scheme dedicated to the thriving coach tourism sector – is now accepting nominations for its highly sought after 2019 accolades.
Brought to you by the team behind the British Tourism & Travel Show, and currently in its 14th year, the British Coach Tourism Awards offers a rare opportunity to recognise the hard work and dedication of some of the most talented coach tour operators, destinations, visitor attractions, hotels, and suppliers in the sector.
Uniquely bringing together every corner of the coach tourism community, the awards are renowned for its show-stopping entertainment, excellent three-course dining, unrivaled networking opportunities, as well as presentation of the highly coveted awards.
“In recognising excellence and innovation across this million-pound industry, the awards continue to play a vital role in encouraging destinations and visitor attractions to improve the welcome and service they offer to coaches and groups,” says group event director David Maguire. In previous years, the calibre of entries have been incredible – so we’re really looking forward to receiving our 2019 entries.”
The shortlist will be announced in January 2019 following meticulous judging by a panel of industry experts. Historically, entries have been by self-nomination only, but this year nominations are also being accepted by third parties. All nominees will be asked to complete an entry form by 21 December 2018.
The winners will be announced at the glamorous black-tie awards ceremony taking place at the National Motorcycle Museum on 20 March 2019. Timed to coincide with the British Tourism & Travel show, 20-21 March 2019, the British Coach Tourism Awards offers incredible networking opportunities as the crème de la crème of coach tourism come together to celebrate excellence and innovation. Plans are being made for the most show-stopping awards yet.
Last year’s ‘Coach Friendly Destination’ Award went to Beverley. Sharron Wilson, tourism marketing officer of Visit Hull and East Yorkshire was delighted with the result:
“The evening of the awards was an amazing night for everyone, from the organisation to actually winning the award. I believed Beverley to be worthy winners – but for our small market town to be recognised made me particularly very proud.
“Since winning the award, we have seen a great increase in coach visitors to the town and in particular new operators – we have feedback forms and word is certainly getting around on the fantastic coach offer we have here in Beverley. I would certainly recommend entering the awards to put your business on the map. It’s not always about the winning, but it’s the taking part and to make the shortlist is a great accolade in itself,” says Wilson.
