At the British Tourism & Travel Show we’re committed to working sustainably with our visitors, exhibitors and stakeholders to consider the long-term impact of our business on the environment and society.
Visiting sustainably
As a visitor to the British Tourism & Travel Show there are many things you can do to be sustainable and reduce your environmental impact. Here are some suggestions:
Bring a reusable water bottle
Instead of buying plastic water bottles, bring your own reusable water bottle and fill up at the water filling stations found at the NEC. This will help reduce the amount of plastic waste generated at the event.
Use public transport or car share
Try to use public transport to get to the event if you can. If not, consider a car share with other attendees to reduce the number of cars on the road and lower carbon emissions. For more travel options, click here.
Bring your own bag
If you think you might buy or pick up samples or giveaways at the event, bring your own reusable bag. This reduces the number of bags that are used and ultimately end up in landfills.
Eat sustainably
If you purchase food onsite look for sustainable options that use local and organic ingredients. Also, try to avoid disposable plates and utensils by bring your own reusable ones.
Recycle your plastic, cans, and paper rubbish
Recycling bins are available throughout the show and on the boulevard at the NEC. Use them for items such as plastic bottles, cans, and paper.
Use your time at the event to reduce travel at other times
Consider how you can make the most of your time at the event to reduce your travel for meetings at other times of the year.
By taking these steps, you can help make the British Tourism & Travel Show more sustainable and reduce your environmental impact.
