We caught up with Ammie Jones from Castle Howard to find out more about their company and exhibiting at the British Tourism & Travel Show.
Tell us a bit about your organisation:
Castle Howard is a world class attraction set in an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty and only 15 miles north of York. It remains a private residence and has been home of the Carlisle branch of the Howard family for more than 300 years. Castle Howard was commissioned by the 3rd Earl of Carlisle in 1699 and took over 100 years to complete.
Successive generations have welcomed visitors to the House, and it was first opened to the public by George Howard in 1952. Visitors can expect dramatic interiors and world-renowned art collections inside the House. The Gardens offer extensive woodland walks, temples, lakes and fountains with an adventure playground, Skelf Island, for the younger visitors to burn off steam.
We offer rates for Groups and FIT to experience the House & Grounds on a self-guided tour and we can arrange personalised out of hours tours, access to areas of the house that aren’t on the normal route, landscape and Gardens tours and then Afternoon Tea, lunch, or drinks receptions in the historic Grecian Hall. Or, for the most discerning traveller a completely bespoke itinerary and an exclusive overnight stay in the house itself!
Tell us what your visitors can see on your stand:
We are excited to talk about our Headline programming this year, which is our first ever large scale Sculpture exhibition. Over 20 pieces of work created by internationally celebrated artist Tony Cragg will be on display in the Grounds and House from May to September 2024.
