Nick Hall, founder& CEO of The Digital Tourism Think Tank will be making his inaugural appearance at the British Tourism & Travel Show, with a panel of guests. and it promises to bring a fresh perspective on destination marketing in 2019. The team at the #DTTT will share a vision for the future of DMOs, talking about some of the key trends they’ve seen in the industry, bringing heaps of global perspective.

What is The Digital Tourism Think Tank and what does is do for destinations around the UK?

The Digital Tourism Think Tank aims at providing thought leadership to the tourism industry in digital marketing best practice, working with destinations worldwide to share our knowledge and insights within the industry.

What key takeaways will visitors get from attending the DTTT panel discussion at BTTS 2019?

We will discuss a whole host of relevant topics, share examples of best practice from brands and DMOs we have both worked with or feel are doing a great job, and discuss what DMOs should be working towards for the future. We will showcase our vision on content strategy, talking attendees through our Hero, Hub, Hygiene approach, working with five destinations in England. We’ll also explain our methodology and thinking around Product & Experience design and how, done right, this can be the key driver behind a destination brand.

How has digital impacted the visitor experience in the last 12 months?

Digital has had a huge impact on the visitor experience over the last 12 months. We live in a fully digital world now which means everything we do needs to be digital, not only to communicate the brand and promote what the destination has to offer, but to also maximise the customer experience by making the journey as seamless as possible.

What’s a key trend you’ve seen in the industry, which will be discussed further in the presentation?

There are quite a few key trends we have seen in the industry over the last year. Mainly, sustainable tourism, storytelling and collaboration – the importance of all stakeholders collaborating together rather than in silo, to maximise the customer experience.

Why are trade shows like the British tourism & Travel Show a great event for the industry to attend?
